First Generation Of Computer (1946-1954)

Hi Friends, Today I Going to write on First Generation Computers and after this i will also posts on Second, Third Fourth generations of Computer...........So Today Let's Read about First Generation of Computer..........................................

The digital computers using electronic valves (vacuum tubes) are known as first-generation computers. Some examples of the first-generation computers are: IBM 701, IBM 704, IBM 709, EDVAC and UNIVAC. The first-generation computers usually used vacuum
tubes as CPU components. The high cost of vacuum tubes prevented their use for main memory. So less costly but slower devices such as acoustic delay lines were used for memory. They stored information in the form of propagation sound waves. Electrostatic memories have also been used in the first generation computers. Magnetic tape and magnetic drums were used as secondary memory. A first generation computer, Whirlwind I, constructed as MIT was the first computer to use ferrite core memory. The first generation computers used machine language and assembly language for programming. They used fixed-point arithmetic. Punched cards and paper tapes were developed to feed programs and data and to get results. Punched card and paper tape readers and printers were in use.

Hope Now You Have some knowledge about First Generation of Computers, So Tomorrow i will post on second generation of computer so don't forget to read about that.....

Thanks For Reading Here, Must Share and Like .........
Good Day/Night....................
